There is no bigger events in a person's life than tying the knot and getting married to your loved one. Throughout a girls life, their girlfriends are always a major part, helping them through all the bad relationships, giving them friendly advice and of course just having a good time together.

Although not as crazy as a mans bucks celebration, the hens day festivities are still quite a large event, with all the ladies getting involved to pamper the soon to be wife, as well as party hard with them for one last time as a single girl. It's a great excuse for other married women to let their hair down for one night and escape from the hubby and the parenting experiences.

If you're the matron of honour for your friends wedding, then you will probably be the one in charge of the hens day celebrations, and therefore it's up to you to make sure the bachelorette party is a memorable one. First and foremost, organise the day well in advance. This allows the maximum amount of friends to be available for the hens party. You should also ensure it's a week or two before the wedding, to allow everyone involved in the initial celebrations a chance to recover (and for the hens dignity to return if it was a particularly huge night).

Be sure to contact all the hens friends too from work, high school, primary school, college, and anywhere else along the way. Don't miss out on some of her close friends, even if she hasn't seen them in a while. Once the guest list is taken care of, you need to find a suitable venue to hold the hens day. A house can be boring for girls, so maybe look at a health retreat that allows you to have spas and massages and a real good time. If you're looking to party hard, maybe book a hotel room in the city, and don't spare any expense for the lucky lady.

Activities are one of the most important thing for a hens night or weekend. As well as pampering sessions, you might want to do other things such as bowling, movies, horse races or even just a good old fashioned pub crawl. Boat cruises are also lots of fun and can take you out on the bay, let you relax, drink, listen to music, and try not to fall off and into the water! Dinner is also a good option, every girl likes food. Just make sure you don't let the bride to be eat too much so that she doesn't fit into her wedding dress!

A final issue to consider is finances when it comes to the hens day celebrations. If you're going out to a pub you can try to make guys buy you drinks. Making a necklace out of lollies for the hen to wear can make a game of it. Go up to guys at the pub and tell them for $2 they can bite a lolly off the hens necklace using their mouth. For lollies in a more provocative position you can even charge $5. This technique is great to get everyone involved and can actually pay for the hens drinks all night long!

For other events, budget a little higher than you think, for unexpected expenses or people pulling out. Using careful planning and a range of innovative ideas you can make the hens day a great one for the special lady and all her friends.
