That is why, when my mother offered to take me on a coach holiday in Europe I jumped at the chance. I still remember that I was very excited even weeks before the holiday had started. I was really looking forward to travelling by coach and seeing the beautiful countryside up close.

After a long wait the departure date drew close. We decided to spend May, June and July in Europe. We boarded the coach in Geneva. My mother has carried a lot of home-cooked food for the journey. We distributed some snacks amongst the other tourist in the coach and quickly made a few friends. After that, the journey was pure bliss.

Luckily, we had a very plush coach featuring all the necessary creature comforts. Our small gang of friends kept busy singing different songs. The next stop was Interlaken. This is a really beautiful place. I had a memorable meal there and was fascinated by the beautiful scenery. The next stop for the coach was Zurich. This place had a very different vibe. The people here were a lot more serious. However the scenery remained as beautiful as ever. The driver of the coach decided to stop for the night. We spent the evening at a beautiful restaurant and the checked into a luxurious heritage hotel.

Next morning we were up and about at the crack of dawn. We grabbed our seats on the coach and settled in for another day on the road. The coach then drove into Salzburg. We visited a few museums and admired the art. Salzburg is famous for its beer and sausages as well. We indulged in a lot of fine Austrian beer. That led to even more singing on the coach.

After a while, the booze wore off and most of the people on the coach went to sleep. Indeed, travelling on a cheap coach trip is the best way to see Europe.
