If you're a guy, I can only imagine that there is nothing more terrifying then having to buy your significant other a ring. I'm not just talking about an engagement ring, I'm talking about any type of ring. Even if the ring isn't necessarily symbolizing commitment there is still a certain personalized touch that goes into picking the right ring for your special lady. What makes this big buy even tougher is that when it comes to giving hints on which rings to buy, women aren't exactly known for being particular straightforward when their men.

Let me explain what I mean by that last statement. When they are buying them for themselves, a female knows exactly what they want in women's personalized jewelry. We can walk up to a counter, try on a few things and be out in ten minutes with three new rings. When it comes to describing what we want to someone else- especially to a man who isn't as jewelry-savvy as we are- we females aren't exactly the best at sharing our information. In fact, I know quite a few women who get mad if their man asks them for jewelry advice. They expect them to know already know it and this proves that they aren't paying attention to their women's style. To that I say, umm, stop being so damn hard on your man, for gosh-sakes.

So if you're reading this and you're a man who has the herculean task of finding the perfect ring for your women, the first thing you must do is take a deep breath and stop worrying. Chances are you already know enough about your significant other to make a good, informed decision. Consider this for a second: does your girlfriend like flashy things? If you answered yes then you might want to go for a diamond or a big gem. If you answered no, a simple band with a small gem might be in order.

Another thing you can consider in your decision is where do you ultimately envision your girlfriend or wife wearing the ring? There is a huge difference between an everyday ring and a special occasion ring. Chances are a ring with a bunch of tiny jewels will only be worn during special occasions while a simpler ring with one big stone can be an everyday ring.

See, you've already narrowed it down significantly. Now you can pretty much just go off of taste and preference. Pick a stone that is meaningful to your significant other, a birthstone or favorite color. Chances are you already know what she wanted, you just had to figure it out for yourself.
